The Klamath Basin offers many great opportunities for adventure during the winter months. Our real estate agents are always excited when the snow flies, and for good reason. It means ski season has returned. 

Offering access to some of the most rugged slopes in the Cascades, the Klamath Basin area is an alpine paradise. So if you're looking for places to ski and snowboard in and around the Klamath Basin, then you're in luck. 

  • Willamette Pass Resort - 27501 Hwy. 58, Mile Marker 62, Crescent Lake, OR 97733
    Willamette Pass is a rugged mountain pass at the crest of the Cascade Range, at an elevation of 5,128 feet. Perched on the mountain slopes above the pass itself is Willamette Pass Resort, one of Oregon's premier ski areas. Runs here range from beginner to advanced, and with 555 acres of skiable terrain and an average annual snowfall of 430 inches, there are options here for everybody. Willamette Pass Resort is known for having one of the steepest runs in the world; the RTS run is 52 degrees at its steepest point.

  • Mt. Ashland Ski Area - 11 Mt. Ashland Ski Rd., Ashland, OR 97520
    Roughly 90 minutes west of Klamath Falls, Mt. Ashland Ski Area is one of the top skiing and snowboarding resorts in the magnificent Siskiyou Mountains. Mt. Ashland has dozens of groomed runs, along with chute skiing in the area known as 'The Bowl.' Ski and snowboard rentals are available, along with group and private lessons. Mt. Ashland is perched at 7,533 feet, with a vertical drop of 1,150 vertical feet and some truly thrilling terrain. The resort is also known for offering twilight skiing on Thursday and Friday nights until 9 pm.

  • Great Meadow Sno-Park - Falls Highway, Klamath Falls, OR 97601
    If you're more interested in cross-country skiing, then you should check out Great Meadow Sno-Park. This beautiful area within Fremont-Winema National Forest offers 165 miles of groomed trails for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. The park is just minutes from many Klamath Falls homes for sale, and its trails traverse picturesque woodlands and meadows with stunning views of the Cascades.

  • Cat Ski Mt. Bailey - 350 Resort Dr., Diamond Lake, OR 97731
    Mt. Bailey's 8,375-foot summit overlooks Diamond Lake, just outside the Klamath County line. It's one of the best destinations in the area for advanced skiers and snowboarders looking for a true alpine challenge. Cat Ski Mt. Bailey offers guided backcountry ski trips on the mountain, with some of the region's most thrilling and challenging slopes. With 3,000-foot alpine faces and high alpine bowls, Mt. Bailey isn't a mountain for beginners, and trips with Cat Ski Mt. Bailey typically put in anywhere from 15,000 to 18,000 vertical feet per day.

  • Mt. Shasta Ski Park - 4500 Ski Park Hwy., McCloud, CA 96057
    One of the premier ski and snowboard destinations in Northern California, Mt. Shasta is less than two hours from Klamath Falls and worth every minute of the drive. Mt. Shasta Ski Park operates 23 trails on the face of this iconic, 14,179-foot mountain. The longest run is 1.2 miles and spans 1,435 vertical feet, but there are trails here for every skill level, as well as terrain parks for beginners and intermediate skiers. Twilight skiing and snowboarding are available, and the ski park also offers lessons, rentals, and a backcountry cabin program.
