The trail is also used for bird watching and horseback riding, though its length means you're unlikely to encounter many other people while you explore. Winema National Forest is also home to a wide variety of other trails, including the Varney Creek Trail and Clover Creek trail, which both connect with the Mountain Lakes Loop.

Accessible from Moore Park, the Moore Mountain Loop is a long, moderately challenging trail with mountain views and plenty of sights to see. The trail checks in at 10.4 miles, with just over 1,300 feet of elevation throughout the hike. In addition to hiking, this is a popular trail for mountain biking and trail running. If you like to explore the mountains with your dog, this is a dog-friendly trail as long as you keep your pup safely on a leash.

Don't have time for a long hike but still want to check out the mountain scenery? The Moore Park Nature Trail Loop is shorter with less elevation than the Moore Mountain Loop, making it a popular choice for families with kids or anyone interested in a quick, stress-free hike. You'll still enjoy some amazing lakeside views on this 1.1-mile loop trail, easily accessible from Moore Park.
