A solar eclipse is set to cross over Oregon this October. This eclipse won't completely block the sun but instead will offer a spectacular "ring-of-fire" view on the morning of October 14. Luckily, Klamath County is one of the prime spots to see the eclipse, and there's a multi-day festival to celebrate it. 

Eclipse Fest kicks off Tuesday, October 10, and runs through Sunday, October 15. This festival will feature camping, events, entertainment, and a memorable eclipse viewing event. The whole thing takes place in a park on Crater Lake Highway just south of Crater Lake Resort. There's a lot to do at this festival, but our real estate agents curated a quick list of some of the highlights.

• Camping
  The festival offers plenty of tent camping and RV pull-through spaces. The campground is dry; however, portable bathrooms and wash stations will be placed throughout the area. Regular camping check-in is Thursday at noon, but if you'd like to camp for the entire festival, an early-bird pass gets you access on Tuesday or Wednesday. 
  
  
• Family Movie Night 
  Grab your chairs and blankets and settle in for dinner and a movie on Thursday, October 12, at 6:30 pm. Two "out-of-this-world" movies will play on a big screen in the park in front of a scenic forest backdrop. Food trucks will be on hand to serve dinner.
  
  
• Pie Eating Contest
  If you have a sweet tooth and a big appetite, you may want to register for the Pie Eating Contest on Friday, October 13, at 3 p.m. The winner will receive a gift certificate in the Swag Shop.
  
  
• Pitchin' Ringers Horseshoe Tournament
  Think you have what it takes to compete in a competitive horseshoe tournament? Teams of two are welcome to sign up for this event on Friday at 4:30 p.m., but you must be 21 or older. The winning team will receive a gift certificate for the beer garden.
  
  
• Orchestrated Star Gazing
  There's nothing quite like the night sky in Klamath County, so take the opportunity to appreciate its beauty at an Orchestrated Star Gazing event on Friday, October 13, at 11 p.m. If you'd like to enjoy this stunning view all year long, we can recommend some very nice Klamath Falls homes for sale.
  
  
• Eclipse Watch Party
  The main event kicks off Saturday morning at 9 a.m. You'll want to bring your souvenir glasses and gather in the viewing area to witness this once-in-a-generation event.
  
  
• Kid's Costume Party
  Kids up to age 15 are welcome to dress up as their favorite Dreamworks or Disney character for the Kid's Costume Party on Saturday at noon. Winners will receive tokens that can be spent in the Food Court.
  
  
• Smash Mouth In Concert
  The event wraps up Saturday evening with a special performance by Grammy-nominated artist Smash Mouth. Rock out to classic hits like All-Star, Walkin' on the Sun, and Then the Morning Comes. The concert begins at 6:30 p.m., and concert tickets are included with a Saturday festival ticket.
