Klamath Marsh National Wildlife Refuge spans more than 43,000 acres of marshland and some land on the banks of the Williamson River. You'll spot several species of each on the grounds of this preserve, including beautiful tundra swans and even the iconic trumpeter swan. Butte Valley National Grassland is California's only natural grassland preserve. Putnam's Point is a small city park within walking distance of many of our Klamath Falls homes for sale, making it easy to head down for some bird watching whenever you have a few minutes free. This is a great place to observe winter waterfowl and wading birds, including several species of ducks, kingfishers, and herons. You can also sometimes spot clusters of city-dwelling birds like doves and starlings nestled in trees or foraging on the ground.

Crater Lake National Park offers a unique mix of biomes that attracts many different types of birds. On top of the usual local waterfowl, the space is home to many of Oregon's forest-dwelling bird species, including mountain chickadees, gray jays, and red-breasted nuthatches. You may also find some showier species, like red crossbills and dusky grouse, out and about this month.
