    Ready for a challenge? Head for the Mountain Lakes Loop Trail in Fremont-Winema National Forest, not far from Chiloquin homes for sale. This 6.3-mile trail stretches to nearly 17 miles when combined with the Mountain Lakes Trail. In addition to wildflower viewing, the trail is popular with birdwatchers. Mountain Lakes Loop Trail accommodates hikers and horseback riders as well as dogs, with some off-leash areas. Hours are 7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and a $5 day pass is required for admission.

  • Steen Sports Loop - Steen Sports Park, 4500 Foothills Blvd., Klamath Falls, OR 97603
    Steen Sports Park, site of Steen Sports Loop, offers a variety of activities for the whole family to enjoy. The stunning 2.3-mile trail is considered easy for all levels of experience, taking approximately 45 minutes to complete. There is also a cross-country fitness trail circling the park's perimeter, as well as facilities for baseball, pickleball, soccer, and skateboarding. Leashed pets are welcome anywhere except the playing fields. Steen Sports Park is open dusk until dawn and there is no entrance fee. 

  • Kit Carson Park - Klamath Falls, OR 97601
    Formerly known as Eulalona Park, Kit Carson Park may have a new name, but it's still a popular spot for viewing wildflowers and other natural beauty. At just under a mile, hiking the easy trail fits into any schedule. After your hike, let Fido romp in the fenced-in dog park while the kids glide on the pint-sized zip line. BBQ areas and picnic tables provide a comfortable spot for a picnic lunch. Hours are 7 a.m. - 10 a.m. with no entrance fee.

  • Klamath Ridgeview Trail - Moore Park, 740 Lakeshore Drive, Klamath Falls, OR 97601
    Features such as Klamath Ridgeview Trail make dog-friendly Moore Park one of the top local spots for outdoor activities. The 3.5-mile trail comes in at approximately 90 minutes to complete, making it a good midpoint alternative between easy and difficult hikes. Novice mountain bikers also find this trail to be a great spot for developing their skills. Once you reach the trail's ridgeline, you'll find scenic views of Upper Klamath Lake that inspired its name. Moore Park is open daily from 6 a.m. - 8 p.m. with no admission fee.

  • Crater Lake National Park - Crater Lake, OR 97604
    Iconic Crater Lake National Park, the crown jewel of Oregon's incredible landscape, is less than an hour away from Running Y Resort homes for sale.     Conveniently located in downtown Klamath Falls, pet-friendly Lake Ewauna Nature Trail is a 1.5-mile path maintained by the Klamath Wingwatchers birding group. An 80-foot pine snag known as the Eagle Perch is frequented by peregrine falcons, hawks, and other majestic birds, while waterfowl such as Canadian geese and ducks can be spotted on the lake.
