Homeowners often ask us whether or not it is a good idea to build a retaining wall on their property. Our real estate agents know that is not a simple yes or no question. There are several issues you should consider before determining your best option.

A retaining wall can add significant curb appeal by skillfully sculpting the space. The well-constructed wall is attractive in its own right. With a wealth of available materials such as stone, brick, wood, and concrete, you can indulge your creativity in designing the perfect landscape. Unfortunately, the wall loses that appeal if it blocks a beautiful view. You will also want to give careful consideration to the materials you select. Concrete is by far the most durable option, but brick or stone may be more pleasing to the eye. Fortunately, you can enhance the concrete for a more aesthetically pleasing appearance.
