Holiday Baking - Homeowners - Fisher Nicholson Realty

What could be better than the scent of freshly baked cookies straight out of the oven? On December 18, you get to enjoy that scent and the cookies themselves! It's National Bake Cookies Day, a holiday created to get homeowners into their kitchens. You can bake a dozen cookies or 10 dozen cookies; it's up to you. Small Business Saturday 2022 - Fisher Nicholson Realty

As holiday shopping season officially begins, everyone is rushing to get the best deals for Black Friday or Cyber Monday. But as crowds flock to the big department stores, many people tend to forget Small Business Saturday. The Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend (November 26th) is devoted to seeking out small businesses and independent shops and supporting them rather than giant corporations. As inflation continues to skyrocket and the economy becomes increasingly difficult to navigate, shopping small and local is more important than ever.

St. Patrick's Day Family Activities - Fisher Nicholson Realty

Everyone's Irish on St. Patrick's Day, or so the saying goes. If that's not true, it's still a great day to celebrate Irish culture. Our real estate agents want to share some hints to bring the history and legends to life with a little family fun.

  • Start the day with dinner!
Older children may enjoy helping put dinner in the crockpot so that it can simmer all day. Start with four shredded carrots (or two cups pre-cut), ten baby red potatoes cut in quarters, and one chopped onion at the bottom of the pot. Place four pounds of corned beef brisket on top of the veggies and cover with three cups of water and two cups of beef broth. Sprinkle spices from the flavor packet that came with brisket on top. Cook on low for eight hours. An hour before serving, stir in 1/2 head of shredded cabbage and cook for another hour. Dinner will be ready and waiting for you at the end of the day.

Storing Seasonal Decor - Fisher Nicholson Realty

The holidays may be over, but you probably still have decorations to put away. Our real estate agents suggest taking a little time to organize seasonal decor as you put it away. You'll be glad you did when you're more easily able to find everything you need for a festive holiday season next year.

  1. Organize Your Decorations
When you take down your tree and other holiday décor, organize the items by group. If you organize your decorations by where you use them, it will be much easier to find them next year. It will also prevent them from being damaged or broken if you pack them right. If you don't have the original box for your tree, you might consider buying a tree bag on wheels. It will make it easier to move, and you won't have to worry about losing any pieces. If you have a real tree, make sure to recycle it once you take it down.

New Home, New Year - Fisher Nicholson Realty

You know the best thing about 2021? That it's almost over! Well, to be fair, you did get a new house! So between those two things, there is a lot to celebrate. And our real estate agents have a few suggestions about how to ring out the old year and welcome in the new.

  • Bring the club home
If you miss the glitz and excitement of dancing at a nightclub, then you can re-create the atmosphere with music and lighting in your new home. Arrange the furniture to allow room for dancing, and be sure there are plenty of hors d'oeuvres. Imagine your guests arriving in sparkling gowns and tuxedoes, or, if you prefer, in boots, jeans, and cowboy hats. Once you determine the theme of your party, share it with your guests in detailed invitations.
